Follow my Quietly Radical YouTube channel for video versions of my “radical ramblings.”
A bundle of contradictions; I suspect that would be the label that my closest friends and family members would ascribe to me and my approach to the world. I’m an intensely private person on the one hand who possesses an insatiable desire to transform society through the written word, on the other. I love the world of learning, books, and ideas while harboring a healthy disdain for pompous academics.
I enjoy certain creature comforts but willingly relinquished a 25 year career and a six figure income in the corporate world because the meaninglessness of the work itself left me unfulfilled and the office politics made me sick. I am a person of faith who cherishes the loving example of Christ while shaking my head in disgust at some of the more “un-Christlike” aspects of organized religion.
I try to see both the good and bad in every situation, leading many puzzling over the question of whether I’m an “optimistic pessimist” or a “pessimistic optimist”. At any given moment I may cautiously follow the most accepted path or do something wildly impulsive. You just never know (and often neither do I!) But that is what keeps life interesting. I hope you’ll enjoy my ramblings from a quietly radical perspective.
